December 7, 2025 - Advent II 

  • When the Ax Falls and Love Still Stands is a call to see repentance as rescue, not punishment. In Isaiah’s vision of a felled forest and a shoot from Jesse’s stump, and in John the Baptist’s warning about the ax at the root of the trees, we meet a King who loves us too much to leave us tangled in what leads to death. This message invites us to stop settling for distraction, bitterness, and empty religion and to let Jesus cut away what is killing our joy so we can step into his peaceable kingdom—a life marked by real freedom, love, and shalom.
