It is an exciting time at FAITH to be a child. Our program year begins a new each September. During Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter, we have special events to mark the holiness of these seasons.
During the summer before your child would start Pre-kindergarten they graduate from the nursery and are invited to participate with the big kids in the Children’s ministry. By beginning in the summer, we are able to give your child time to acclimate to the transition during a quieter time in the church life, so they are use to their new routine by kick off Sunday. Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade gather often to worship, engage the Bible and for fellowship.
Sunday school is offered from 9:15-10:15. We are diving into the Scriptures and the concept of family this year using Deep Blue Bible Curriculum. Through crafts, games, and conversations we will learn what it means to be a part of God’s family. We use a wide range of activities each week to help the kids engage the Bible story.
Wednesdays Together for Kids
Most Wednesdays all ages gather for a potluck supper. We meet at 6:15 to set the table for our meal. After we have shared in a meal together around the table, the kids will meet for Bible lessons, mission activities, games or art. Each week we will do one of these activities. Wednesday’s nights are a lot of fun. We finish up as close as possible to 7:30.
Worship Our Way, also known as WOW, is designed to give children 4 years old to 4th grade age-appropriate worship experience. Children will begin worship with their parents and following the Moments with the Children, they will move to WOW, where they will continue in a worship service designed just for them. In WOW the children will be learning the rhythms and language of worship and have a time to respond to the lesson for the day through crafts and/or activities. Our 3rd and 4th graders will begin to participate in worship leadership as they are able and comfortable. Some of the ways our 3rd and 4th graders can help include reading the Scripture, leading a prayer, and modeling appropriate worship behavior. Our older kids will also have the opportunity to help our littlest worshippers engage.
We recognize that not all children will want to attend WOW or that families would like to worship together. Children are always welcome and invited to stay in worship with their parents, if that is what is best for your family. For those children who choose to stay in worship, Worship bags are provided to help engage them in the service.
Through out the church year we have the opportunities to dive deeper and enjoy fellowship with one another. Stay tuned for more details about Fall, Advent, Christmas, Easter and more.
Childrens’ ministry is not possible with out the support of volunteers! If you are able and willing to share your gifts with the children of the church, there is a place for you. Commitments range from a one-time event, to monthly and yearlong.
If you have any comments or questions about these ministries, or would like to volunteer in one of them, please contact our associate pastor for children and youth ministries, Elizabeth.
