Because He Lives

Prayer of Confession

The Lord shelters and protects us. The Lord gives us Life! Yet, we need to bring our burdens and Sin and leave them at the foot of the cross. Let us pray:

Holy and Merciful God, in Your presence we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings, and our offenses against You. You alone know how often we have sinned against You. You alone know how we have wandered from Your way. You see us wasting Your gifts and forgetting Your love for us and our neighbors. Have mercy on us, O Lord, for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease You. Forgive our sins, and help us live in Your light.

(Let us confess in silence to God the burdens of our hearts)

Hear the Good News! The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. I declare to you, in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

*Affirmation of Faith

We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has become present in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. Amen

Prayers of Thanksgiving and the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
