“Great I Am”

I wanna be close close to Your side
So Heaven is real and death is a lie
I wanna hear voices of angels above
Singing as one

Chorus
Hallelujah holy holy
God Almighty great I Am
Who is worthy none beside Thee
God Almighty great I Am

I wanna be near near to Your heart
Loving the world hating the dark
I wanna see dry bones living again
Singing as one

Chorus

The mountains shake before You
The demons run and flee
At the mention of Your name King of majesty
There is no pow’r in hell or any who can stand
Before the power and the Presence of the great I Am
The great I Am

Chorus

CCLI Song # 5881491

“He Knows My Name”

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in His hand

Chorus
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And hears me when I call

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He’ll never leave me
No matter where I go

Chorus x2
And hears me when I call
And hears me when I call

Prayer of Confession

The Lord shelters and protects us. The Lord gives us Life! Yet, we need to bring our burdens and Sin and leave them at the foot of the cross. Let us pray:

Merciful God, we would rather envision You in our own image, than catch a glimpse of You in Your splendor and glory; we would rather imagine ourselves as the center of the universe, than allow Your vision to show us things as they truly are. Forgive us, O God, when we shut our eyes to Your self-revelation and insist that You look and behave just like us. Forgive, Holy One, when our egos prevent us from seeing who You really are. (Let us confess in silence to God the burdens of our hearts)

Hear the Good News! This day and every day, in Christ we are made new. Thanks be to God!

Scripture Readings

Sermon The Great I Am
The Rev. Elizabeth Lockhart

“Shine, Jesus, Shine”

Lord the light of Your love is shining
In the midst of the darkness shining
Jesus Light of the world shine upon us
Set us free by the truth You now bring us
Shine on me shine on me

Chorus
Shine Jesus shine
Fill this land
With the Father’s glory
Blaze Spirit blaze
Set our hearts on fire
Flow river flow
Flood the nations
With grace and mercy
Send forth Your word Lord
And let there be light

Lord I come to Your awesome presence
From the shadows into Your radiance
By the blood I may enter Your brightness
Search me try me consume all my darkness
Shine on me shine on me

Chorus

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness
So our faces display Your likeness
Ever changing from glory to glory
Mirrored here may our lives tell Your story
Shine on me shine on me

Chorus

*Affirmation of Faith

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offertory Song- “A New Hope”

Prayer

“Arise, Your Light is Come”

Arise, your light has come! The Spirit’s call obey; show forth the glory of your God which shines on you today.

Arise, your light has come! Fling wide the prison door; proclaim the captive’s liberty, good tidings to the poor.

Arise, your light has come! All you in sorrow born, bind up the brokenhearted ones and comfort those who mourn.

Arise, your light has come! The mountains burst in song! Rise up like eagles on the wing, God’s pow’r will make us strong.

*Benediction
