Prayer of Confession

The Lord shelters and protects us. The Lord gives us Life! Yet, we need to bring our burdens and Sin and leave them at the foot of the cross. Let us pray:

Loving God, we sing and shout, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” We prefer to ignore what is to come; the anger, betrayal, torture, and death. Forgive us when we move quickly from the celebration of Palm Sunday to the celebration of Easter, without taking time to hear or experience the depths between. Forgive us for the times we have fallen short. Forgive us when we have been the cause of anger or been angry without cause. Forgive us when we have betrayed the innocent. Help us to be faithful to Your gospel of love and freedom from our burdens.
(Let us confess in silence to God the burdens of our hearts)

Hear the Good News! The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. I declare to you, in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.

Thanks be to God.

*Affirmation of Faith

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
