Because He Lives
God sent His Son they called Him Jesus
He came to love heal and forgive
He bled and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove
My Savior lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives
How sweet to hold our newborn baby
And feel the pride and joy he gives
But greater still the calm assurance
This child can face uncertain days
Because Christ lives
And then one day I’ll cross that river
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain
And then as death gives way to vict’ry
I’ll see the lights of glory
And I’ll know He reigns

How Firm a Foundation
How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word
What more can He say than to you He hath said
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled
Fear not I am with thee O be not dismayed
For I am thy God I will still give thee aid
I’ll strengthen thee help thee
And cause thee to stand
Upheld by My gracious omnipotent hand
When through the deep waters He calls thee to go
The rivers of grief shall not thee overflow
For He will be with thee in trouble to bless
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress
When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie
My grace all-sufficient shall be thy supply
The flames shall not hurt thee I only design
Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine
Prayer of Confession
The Lord shelters and protects us. The Lord gives us Life! Yet, we need to bring our burdens and Sin and leave them at the foot of the cross. Let us pray:
God of Mercy, we profess to live according to Your word and Your commandments, yet we fill our lives in ways that prevent us from doing so. Instead of making a temple of our hearts, where we would have You dwell, we have created a place of darkness. Cleanse and reclaim our heart, Lord, as You cleansed the Temple in Jerusalem. Overturn the tables in our spirit, sweep aside all that keeps us from You. Show us Your steadfast love and forgiveness, as we seek to follow You every day.
(Let us confess in silence to God the burdens of our hearts)
Hear the Good News! Jesus walked the Lonesome valley for us. Jesus loves us. In our walk with Jesus we are made new. Thanks be to God!

Sermon Seeing Beyond the Stuff
“My Shepherd Will Supply My Need”
My Shepherd will supply my need: Jehovah is His Name; In pastures fresh He makes me feed, Beside the living stream. He brings my wandering spirit back When I forsake His ways, And leads me, for His mercy’s sake, In paths of truth and grace.
When I walk through the shades of death His presence is my stay; One word of His supporting grace Drives all my fears away. His hand, in sight of all my foes, Doth still my table spread; My cup with blessings overflows, His oil anoints my head.
The sure provisions of my God Attend me all my days; O may Thy house be my abode, And all my work be praise. There would I find a settled rest, While others go and come; No more a stranger, nor a guest, But like a child at home.
*Affirmation of Faith
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

“Lord, Make Us More Holy”
Lord, make us more holy; Lord, make us more holy; Lord, make us more holy, until we meet again: holy, holy, holy, until we meet again.
Lord, make us more loving; Lord, make us more loving; Lord, make us more loving, until we meet again: loving, loving, loving, until we meet again.
Lord, make us more patient; Lord, make us more patient; Lord, make us more patient, until we meet again: patient, patient, patient, until we meet again.
Lord, make us more faithful; Lord, make us more faithful; Lord, make us more faithful, until we meet again: faithful, faithful, faithful, until we meet again.
